Gamepad for Android TV Privacy Policy

update

Effective Date: June 22, 2026

info Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Gamepad for Android TV ("we", "our", or "the app") handles information when you use our Android application (com.gamepad.gamepadapp). We are committed to collecting only what is necessary to operate and improve the app, and never collecting personally identifiable information.

dataset Information We Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information. The information collected is limited to the following:

  • campaign Advertising ID

The resettable Android Advertising ID — used by Google AdMob to serve the rewarded ad when you choose to watch one to unlock button-mapping edits.

  • touch_app App Interactions

Which screens you visit, buttons you tap, connection mode selected, and survey answer.

  • sports_esports Gameplay Actions

Aggregate counts of gamepad button presses and joystick moves per session — no individual keystrokes recorded.

  • bug_report Crash Logs

Stack traces, device model, and Android OS version at the time of a crash.

  • speed Diagnostics

Bluetooth connection latency, device model, and Android SDK version.

  • feedback Session Feedback

Your optional feedback: sentiment, category, and free-text message; plus session duration, button-press count, connection mode, app version, device model, and Android SDK version attached automatically.

  • fingerprint Anonymous User ID

A randomly generated, non-reversible ID created by Firebase Authentication — attached to your feedback submission for deduplication only. Cannot be linked back to you.

cloud_sync How We Collect This Information

  • analytics Firebase Analytics — records app interaction and gameplay events automatically while you use the app.
  • report Firebase Crashlytics — captures crash reports automatically if the app crashes.
  • database Firebase Firestore — stores your feedback when you voluntarily submit the in-app feedback form. Submitting feedback is entirely optional.
  • badge Firebase Anonymous Authentication — creates a random anonymous ID used only to tag your feedback document. No sign-in or account creation is required from you.
  • ads_click Google AdMob — reads the Advertising ID to serve a rewarded ad when you choose to watch one to unlock button-mapping edits.
  • tune Firebase Remote Config — fetches configuration values (e.g., minimum app version, feedback thresholds) from our server. No user data is sent as part of this fetch.

campaign Advertising

The app contains rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. A rewarded ad plays when you choose to watch one in exchange for temporary access to the button-mapping editor. AdMob may use the Advertising ID on your device to show relevant ads.

You can opt out of personalised ads or reset your Advertising ID at any time via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Google's privacy policy for advertising services is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

share Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services. Each processes data on our behalf as a service provider and is bound by its own privacy policy:

  • open_in_new Google Firebase — Analytics, Crashlytics, Firestore, Authentication, Remote Config
  • open_in_new Google AdMob — rewarded ad delivery
  • open_in_new Google Play In-App Review API — prompts you to rate the app after a positive session. The rating goes directly to Google Play; we never see the numeric score.
